Contemporary rural music from Shropshire, sixteen years in the writing and making, this album collects together the work of vagabond songwriter and composer Jonathan Day. After two critically acclaimed albums and several years touring Europe, Jonathan moved out of the spotlight to follow a reclusive and itinerant life makjing music in his remote home in the hills and sometimes playing the streets and late night gatherings of Europe and Asia, always looking for authenticity and connection. His friends Joe Broughton, Kevin Dempsey, Chris While, Paloma Trigas and the Old Dance School encouraged him to make this record, and they paly on it with the truth, comfort and understanding that only comes with deep fellowship. This is a rare insight into music for its own sake, filled with the wisdom of woodlands, the brilliance of birds and the stillness of wind blown summits. The record takes its heart from time, silence and the mad, mundane and quietly beautiful vision of those who share the road.
